The positive impact of a role model can change the course of a young boy or girls direction in life forever. I speak from experience because at the young age of five years old, such an event happened to me. His name was Chris and he was without a doubt the best running back this little boy had ever seen in all of his five years. He was seven years my senior, but still took the time to show he cared, which meant more than he would ever know.
What if student-athletes and students across the country took the time to show they cared to the younger generation? What kind of effect would it have on the future of this great country we call the United States of America? Think of the future leaders we could influence by encouraging children to not give up on their dreams and reach for the stars.
There is real power in one's life when you attempt to tackle God's custom-designed purpose for your life. There is a reason we were created in God's image with a uniqueness that is unparalleled to anyone else on the planet. When you have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, your life takes on a whole new meaning as your ultimate desire becomes to serve instead of being served. The void in your heart is filled and life is more enjoyable and fulfilling than you ever could have imagined.
If you have never taken this step of faith, what are you waiting for? Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. "
