Playing for Jesus Ministries believes our society has reached a crucial summit to surpass for the younger generation. This apex is the revitalization of positive role models for the "Youth of America" through a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
A role model is defined as "someone whose character, life or behavior is taken as a good example to follow." Here are just a few staggering youth statistics positive role models would help reverse as these alarming trends continue to grow.
- "The Department of Justice estimates that approximately 750,000 individuals are now members of gangs."
- Reported by National Network of Youth Ministries, "more than 80% of youth who attend church will stop going between the 7th grade and 12th grade."
- According to Promise Keepers, "90% of our boys who are raised in the church leave congregational life by age 20." In addition, "the average congregation is a mere 39% male."
- Bullying statistics show that 77% of students are bullied mentally, verbally, & physically.
- 40% of teenage girls ages 14 to 17 report knowing someone their age who has been hit or beaten by a boyfriend.
